Reaction, Networking with the Noble Laureates…

I have been to similar events organized by area colleges & universities here in the Twin Cities. I have found them to be dizzying & exhaustive experiences where I’ve witnessed attendees bend over backwards to exchange words with Noble Laureates as if they God’s messengers in the flesh. In my opinion, the greatest advice contained in this article is found in the ending suggesting to simply approach Noble Laureates as fellow mortals.

After all, they are only human with their own prejudices & biases limited to what they can & cannot understand. Indeed, these are great places to network, not necessarily with the Noble Laureates themselves, but with other like-minded attendees with similar interests, ideas, & research imperatives.

I always felt such meet & greet events like these Noble Laureate Forums critically lacked vital interactivity for all attendees. At such events, I often argued the best opening for an event like this is to recognize, but above all acknowledge the mortality that we as human beings bring to such discussions.

That necessary conversation can begin by asking questions like:

What is the best way to curb egoism in the great flowering of human minds?

What is an acceptable failure threshold when pursuing the unknown against great criticism by Academia Inc?

At what point will advanced artificial intelligence make such a great meeting of minds obsolete considering the vast generative AI potential that can replicate the minds of past intellectual titans like Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Michael Faraday, & Ibn Haytham?

One cannot overlook that such forums situated on attending Noble Laureates is fundamentally steeped in case specifics for theoretical research. Little patience or consideration is afforded to abstracting the working philosophy that forges any given working thesis into a coherent turned provable argument/variable.

I personally argue for maximum event effectiveness & inclusivity, such forums should observe the round table methodology. Where Noble Laureates are grouped off into groups not exceeding 12 participants allowing each attendee to ask questions or make propositions using reasonable time restrictions in each round table. That way, everyone has a chance to say something to make whatever kind of impression they want, either on the Noble Laureates themselves or with fellow attendees after opening talks by the laureates..

Besides, does not the legacy of the Noble Prize serve as an “attributinal ode” to the assumed supremacy of Western Civilization over all others? Why not “internationalize” the scope of the Noble Foundation by hosting award ceremonies in the Global South where & whenever possible to better engender that much sought after diversity claimed as an embodiment of today’s Noble Prize?

Can the Noble Foundation merge with other major philanthropies worldwide to better expand the purpose, scope, & accessibility of its assumed work? The last thing needed is for the Noble Foundation to devolve into another international bragging society restricting access to the next great renaissance beneath layers of ivory tower elitism.

It seems that in the end, no one seems to be asking how we can advance the dialogue by utilizing raw autodidacticism harmoniously with advanced artificial intelligence to preserve the human factor in the next generation breakthroughs of the future.
